John lives with his wife in a 3-bedroom semi-detached house in Halesowen. Concerned about ever increasing energy prices the couple decided that by investing in a new front door they could reduce their bills.
Heat loss through our uPVC door on the porch was a major concern for us. We’d noticed over the last couple of years that our current door was becoming more and more draughty . We decided to replace it during the summer in readiness for the colder winter months.
John contacted local firm Oak Lodge doors who are part of Solidor’s National Installer Network and it was from there that John was introduced to the Solidor Range.
The vast amount of door styles, colours and fittings available from Solidor made the decision process difficult (in a good way) but you could just see the quality that was on offer from the brochure. Oak Lodge Doors were very knowledgeable about the range so that put our minds at ease. They really know their stuff about Solidor!
John and his wife wanted their new door to allow maximum light through to the hallway. They were keen to have a contemporary door in order to help modernise the front of their home. After much deliberation they chose the Edinburgh in Anthracite Grey, it’s a modern twist on a classic Victorian four panel door style.
We really liked the Edinburgh as soon we saw it. The new door was going to form part of a porch and we like the idea of being able to see through to the timber door on the inside. The Edinburgh would allow this, it was perfect.
The look of the house has completely changed since the new door has been fitted, it’s provided a new modern dimension and we’ve now got the added benefit of superior security and thermal efficiency. We’re really pleased we chose Solidor and would recommend both them and Oak Lodge doors to anyone.
