Installers were given a preview of new colours and smart handles at the Solidor Unlocked event at our new manufacturing facilities in Stoke-on-Trent on 22-23 May.
Over the two-day event, more than 70 people from Solidor’s national installer network joined us to see behind the scenes at our factory and learn about our manufacturing process, as well as meet the senior leadership and customer services team.
They also received an update on U values before being given an exclusive preview of our four new nature-inspired colours, some potential new door designs and two new smart handles.
If you couldn’t join us, here’s what you missed…
New colours
Forest Green, Buttercup, Pistachio and Truffle Brown are available to order now. These new additions complete Solidor’s colour offering to allow homeowners even more design choice when it comes to their exterior doors.
Jason Carson, head of sales at Supreme Windows, said:
“The best part of coming to Solidor Unlocked has been getting to see behind the scenes and seeing how a Solidor is made. It was also great to see the new colours and get to see them in the flesh at today’s event. I think Truffle Brown will be a big seller in our area.”
“Green is a very ‘in’ colour right now, so I think Forest Green will be a winner with our customers,” added Andrew Carson, service manager at Supreme Windows.

U values update
As of 15 June 2023, doors fitted into existing dwellings must achieve 1.4 W/(m2.K). If you are recommending products to your clients, you are responsible for ensuring that they are fit for purpose and the intended use.
Naturally, here at Solidor, our range is fully in line with these standards and Solidor’s thermally efficient design achieves a U value of 1.4 W/(m2K).
Our timber core doors have added design features that drive an overall performance improvement and allow us to offer customers the same broad range of choices, suitable for any installation.

Smart handles
Attendees also got a sneak peek of the ERA and Ultion smart handles that will be joining Solidor’s security offering later this year. This means that homeowners will have the choice of both mechanical and electrical based security.
Touchkey
Touchkey from ERA is a keyless security solution for composite entrance doors which combines a smart security handle, an auto-firing multi-point system, and an anti-bump security cylinder. Alongside fingerprint technology, Touchkey includes the smart home app, geolocation technology, voice-activated entry, and manual key override.
Ultion Nuki
The Ultion Nuki from Ultion and tech specialist Nuki can be used to safely lock and unlock doors via the free app, smart home devices, a wireless fingerprint keypad, or a traditional key. The new Ultion Bolt Multipoint lock also brings new functionality to Ultion Nuki.
