Mr and Mrs King are in the process of a total refurbishment of their Victorian semi – detached house in Ipswich. As part of this renovation project they’ve taken the opportunity to update their front door.
Mr King says – We’re carrying out extensive renovations at the moment and saw this as the perfect time to give the front of our house a bit of a face lift. We contacted FIS Windows who are a local Window and Door retailer. It was FIS who recommended Solidor to us, their confidence in the product spoke volumes, so we were keen to find out more about the range of composite doors available.
FIS Windows Ltd are part of Solidors national Installer Network, they’ve been installing the Solidor product for over five years and boast a Premium showroom which showcases several Traditional and Contemporary style doors.
Due to the age of the King’s home they wanted a new front door that would replicate the traditional features of that era whilst requiring minimal upkeep.
Mr King Comments: My wife has very specific tastes, she was very clear on the type of door that she wanted. We looked through the entire Solidor range and as soon as we saw the London door we were certain that this would be the perfect addition to our home.
The London Door is one of the most recent door styles to be added to the Solidor portfolio. It is aptly named with a styling very similar to many front doors found in the capital during the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
When it comes to colour, Solidor has the largest range with a total of 20. Homeowners are even able to choose a different colour inside and out.
Mr King says: There a so many different shades to choose from. We eventually decided on French Grey and chose a Dorchester glass from the decorative range. We liked this glass design so much that FIS even arranged for us to have the same design in the window next to the door, which completes the look perfectly. We’re both so pleased.
Now that the door has been installed Mr and Mrs King feel safe and secure in their home: We had no idea that changing the front door could make such a difference. There’s no draft coming through to the hallway, so we feel really cosy every time we close our new Solidor. We’d definitely recommend both Solidor and FIS Windows to anyone.
