The Douglas Macmillan Hospice was established in 1973 as a 28 bed care facility for people facing incurable cancer, servicing primarily the North Staffordshire area.
The charity needs £12m this year alone to maintain its services, 75% of which comes from voluntary donations. For this reason, Solidor are asking customers to show their support by pledging £1 for every door purchased during September. In association with the Dougie Mac, ‘Bring a Pound’ day will take place on 22nd September.
Blackburn based Premium Solidor installer McDermott Windows have taken their generosity a step further by pledging £15 for every Solidor purchased throughout the month.
Stephen McDermott Managing Director of McDermott Windows says “We have a fantastic partnership with Solidor. They’re always on hand to provide us with excellent support to help make our business a success. We work well as a partnership in business and with this additional contribution we’re showing our support to this great cause also. We’re only too happy to help”.
Gareth Mobley CEO of Solidor group says “The generosity shown by McDermott Windows is overwhelming, we really do have the best customers in the industry.
At the end of September we will be matching the amount raised by our customers. The Douglas Macmillan Hospice is a fantastic local charity and we know that the money raised will be put to good use. We’re really proud to be able to support them”.
