Debbie Thomas lives in a detached house in leafy Cheshire. Her house was built in 2001 and had generic foam filled front and back doors much like the rest of the estate.
Debbie decided to change her front and back doors for three reasons
- I wanted to improve the security on my home.
- To improve the look of my home – The old doors looked dated and a bit tired.
- I have always wanted a stable door but have been put off as I’d heard that they leaked and were quite drafty.
A friend of Debbie’s had recently had a Solidor stable door fitted and showed Debbie some of its key features including how it locked, how secure it was with the Ultion cylinder and how solid it was.
I loved it….it felt substantial, it didn’t rattle or let any drafts in. I soon became a door stalker and looked at other houses front doors wherever I went.
As security was an important factor for me I spoke to a local locksmith about the cylinder who advised that Ultion was by far and away the best lock cylinder available.
Debbie took the time to research Solidor on line. She looked at the thermal efficiency aspects of the doors as well as all of the security features that were available.
I really liked that Solidors have a timber core, they’re solidly constructed, they’re not foam filled and they meet all of the current building regulations.
I used their online door designer and created various door styles. I liked the fact I could upload a door design onto an image of my house to give me an idea of what it would look like.
Many of the door styles available can be transformed into stable doors and Solidor are the first composite door manufacturer to offer a Secured by Design licenced Stable door for added peace of mind.
I contacted The Black and White Window Co in Manchester and it was it was a revelation to hear that there were so many options for stable doors available from Solidor. I hadn’t seen so many with any other door companies. After much deliberation I decided to go for the Pisa stable door for the back door and the London door for the front. Both have a traditional look but with a modern twist.
Excellent customer service
Working with The Black and White Window Co as been great. Brian Ostle was really knowledgeable about the Solidor range which really helped. Brian was clearly very proud of being a Solidor premium supplier and spoke highly of the range. I felt in very safe hands with The Black and White Window Co and Brian in particular.
Since the new doors have been installed Debbie has received lots of compliments from her neighbours.
I feel very secure with my new Solidors. I love the way the look inside as well as out. I have broken the mould and gone for a door that I initially wasn’t sure would suit my style of house but now I have them they look fantastic and I’ve had a lot of compliments on them already.
The stable door has been put to good use and I’m so glad I chose something a little different to a standard back door. I know that they will stand the test of time and look amazing for many years to come.
