While much of the country was celebrating the late Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977, it was also a special year for the Brownlow family. It was in this year that Dennis Brownlow founded Cornpool Glass & Windows, in March, Cambridgeshire. In 1994 the company rebranded and became Art on Glass.
A family affair
The company originated as a manufacturer providing customers with a full series of glazing services. Fast forward 47 years and Dennis’ son Dan is now at the helm and has overseen the company move with the times.
Art on Glass now sources its products from specialist suppliers – including Solidor – to provide a more economical choice for the people of March and the surrounding area.
The company retains some of its roots though and still offers a glazing service. From glass table tops and mirrors to toughened glass, Art on Glass also provides a cut-to-size service.
New showroom
Art on Glass, a Solidor-approved installer for more than 10 years, has expanded its March premises in recent years to create two new showrooms and a factory unit.
Solidor products are on display within the new showrooms allowing visitors to get a feel for their new front door. Visitors can physically open and close the doors and decide which hardware to choose. A visit to the showroom also provides the perfect opportunity to decide upon a colour, something which is notoriously hard to do through a computer screen.
